Education Division Faculty Meeting On Tuesday, September 26 our faculty meeting was dedicated to professional development. Dr. Susan Hladky presented some procedures that should be followed when using the Chromebooks and cart and shared how she has used them in her classroom. Dr. Diana Dell, Director of the MET Program, taught us about Google Drive, Google Docs, and Google Forms and engaged all of us to experiment with each of these formats. We will be utilizing Google in upcoming faculty meetings and our goal is to become totally paperless. Thank you to these two ladies that graciously shared their knowledge and love for learning with us. The Greatest Team on Earth! These people are the most amazing, hard-working, student-centered people I know! If you look closely you will notice Flat Christine and Flat Melanie. Thanks, Nancy, for making sure we made it in the picture. Women in Leadership Networking & Breakfast Students Ashley Bachman and Madeline Smith, in addition to faculty members Tammy Cox and Mary Ann Bouas were in attendance. Tammy Cox was motivated by the following quote and was reminded that mentoring is important - "Never fail to Be mentored - Never fail TO mentor." Special Recognition During our faculty meeting, Dr. Dkystra joined us and presented a 20-year service pin to Dr. Mary Ann Conaway. She has been an important asset in every position and we wish her many blessings for the future. Education Division Faculty Meeting The faculty met on Tuesday, September 12 and discussed SWOTS. Alicia Noddings led the group and everyone worked on reviewing the 2016 SWOTS and offered any changes/suggestions that were needed. A group discussion was held after the individual work time. These discussions are always helpful. We are doing great as a division, but there are always ways to improve. President's Chapel President Lacey spoke on grace and humility at his final fall President's Chapel. We are such a blessed university community to be led so well by President Lacey. Thank you Dr. Lacey for your leadership! Imag...

Fox PD Offerings One of our excellent school district partners is the Fox C-6 School District. They have invited any MBU faculty in the Education division to attend any of their professional development opportunities for free! This is an incredible blessing to each of you not only because it is offered at no cost, but more importantly because the PD is being offered to ensure that teachers (and the future teachers we train) are learning best teaching practices and specific content. Fox's Beginning Teaching Assistance Program (BTAP) document above describes the workshops designed to be brief meetings to learn about best practice related to instruction to help support new teachers. Amy said, "We would love to see students leaving university with some background knowledge in any of these topics so we would love for your professors to attend." Alicia Noddings, Susan Hladky, Tammy Cox, and Teresa Tesreau-Boggs attended a Google PD opportunity at Fox this summer and will be...
