Eduation Faculty Meeting Tuesday, January 23 was the kick-off meeting to our EdPlus series. Beth Tobin, John Waters, and ClauDean Kizart led a discussion on Visible Learning and participants were given the book by John Hattie titled "10 Mindframes for Visible Learning." The next session is scheduled for Tuesday, February 13 at 10:15 a.m. in the FLD 115 Conference Room. Please join us! Counselor Education Meeting While the Education folks were meeting with EdPlus, the counselor folks met in my office to work on CACREP and other counselor ed issues. Character Education Certification Spread the word about this great opportunity for your students to earn the Character Education certification which will be a plus on their resume. CAEP Update Our upcoming CAEP accreditation visit is approaching quickly. The eight-member team (5 out-of-state, 3 in-state) will be on campus Sunday, February 25th - Tuesday, February 27th. We have been collecting additional documents requested which are due by February 2nd. One of the items requested is in reference to our previous accreditation visit and the Areas for Improvement noted by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).  Full-time and adjunct faculty members, please provide your input which will help me as I compile the information for our addendum by completing this ten-question  survey . Second semester has started and we're off to a great start. Education Faculty Meeting - Tuesday, January 9, 2018 Dr. Terry Harris, Executive Director of Student Services at Rockwood School District spoke to us about the RSD Thrive program at Rockwood. This learning series is for teachers and administrators and focuses on social and emotional learning, restorative practices, trauma-informed care, and self-care for educators. CharacterPlus offers Character Education Certification Dr. Terry Harris also spoke to our faculty about the importance of having the Character Education Certification.
