This is the last blog of this school year. Education Faculty Meeting Our last session with EdPlus was on Tuesday, April 24. We have enjoyed the Effective Teaching & Learning Practices series from several different presenters during our spring meetings. This session was titled "Assessment Capable Learner" and was presented by Jamie Mehring and Bev Boyd. Click  HERE  to access the presentation. The presentation includes three excellent videos, two of which we were not able to view on Tuesday. I encourage all of you to take a few minutes and scroll through the presentation and view the videos. YESS Program A YESS (Yearlong Experience for Spartan Seniors) Program meeting was held Monday evening for the students and principals that will be part of the program in the fall. Our YESS program gives our seniors a year-long student teaching experience in one of our partner schools. We have a record number of students participating. Doug Holler, principal at Lakeview Elementary in Wentzville School District, attended to meet his students. Alicia Noddings, Tammy Cox, Colleen Hulcer, Jim Schulz, Kathleen Wendt, Ellen John, and I also attended. Susan went over expectations and the students worked on their schedule. Senior Walk The Senior Walk is a great tradition at MBU and it was held on Thursday. Everyone on campus lines up to watch the seniors walk from the SRC to the Chapel in their regalia. Education Faculty Meeting We had an abbreviated faculty meeting on Tuesday, April 10 with a full agenda. We talked about the new appointments in the Education division with my new role as Associate Vice President of Graduate Affairs & Dean of Education, Dr. Tammy Cox as Associate Dean of Education for Teacher Education & Student Affairs, and Dr. Alicia Noddings as Associate Dean of Education for Accreditation, Assessment, & Data. We discussed revamping our student interview process, the MEES assessment tool, and the CAEP visit. Don't miss our next and last division meeting for this school year which is on Tuesday, April 24 at 10:15 a.m. in the Field Conference Room. MACTE Conference Alicia Noddings, Susan Hladky and I attended the MACTE Conference on March 26-27. There were several workshops to attend. Shelton Smith presented at one of the workshops titled "The Administrator's Role ... Support Good Teaching." Education Staff Meeting On Thursday, March 29 the Education Division held a staff meeting. We invited Thea Abraham, Heather Brase, and Molly Munoz to talk about the new online catalog. We also took this opportunity to celebrate Ricki who will be leaving us and going to the Jeff Co RLC at the end of May. Teacher Education Council The TEC met on Tuesday, April 3 for a luncheon meeting. We discussed upcoming professional development, Field I diversity placement options, our disposition assessment, and the changes from DESE regarding the performance assessments. Outstanding Student Awards The OSA ceremony was held Tuesday, April 3. This is always a wonderful evening that honors our students that we
