Dr. Keith Ross named next President! The Board of Trustees announced yesterday that Keith Ross will be our next president beginning on January 10, while Dr. Alton Lacey will serve as the Chancellor until his retirement next summer. Congratulations, Dr. Ross! We look forward to serving under your leadership for many years to come. Emerson  Excellence in Teaching Award MBU assistant professor and Assistant Dean of Education Dr. Alicia Noddings has been recognized as a recipient of the 2017 Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award. Noddings joins 108 St. Louis area colleagues across K-12 and higher education who were honored for their commitment to students and their outstanding work in the classroom. Educators were nominated by administrators at their institutions. Awards were presented Sunday, November 12 during a ceremony and reception at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Clayton. This week has been full of Zoom exploration, CAEP and CACREP preparations. As our Counselor Education faculty have been learning the new live-streaming platform, Zoom, the teacher education folks have been working on details for our CAEP site visit and implementing new ideas in their classrooms. Education Division Organization Meeting On Wednesday, October 25 the Education Division Student Organizations met. This meeting is for education students who are part of one or more of the following professional organizations: SASCD is the student chapter of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development; SMSTA is the pre-professional organization for Missouri State Teachers Association; and KDP is Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education. The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 6 at 3:30 p.m. in FLD 308. The topic for this meeting will be Diversity in the Classroom. Please share this information with your students.
