MACTE Conference: October 24 - 26 Susan Hladky, Alicia Noddings and I attended the MACTE Conference at the lake. You can find our notes on the shared Canvas PD shell. The hot topics of this conference were yearlong internships, APR, AAT, and federal regulations. Way to go, Dr. E! Dr. Mark Engelhardt performed at the October band concert in Pillsbury Chapel.  He has played with the band since he started working for MBU. Thanks for sharing your talents with the university and community! Classroom Activity with Dr. Engelhardt On Thursday, October 27 Dr. Engelhardt invited some Education Division folks to join his class for a mathematical experiment.  We stood in a circle and he would start by squeezing the person's hand next to him and the hand squeezing would continue around the circle until it returned to Mark. Homecoming Week Fun! Door Decorating Contest winner was the University Communications Department. A few of us stopped by this morning to check it out. If you want to get in on the fun, stop by the office of Bryce and company. Boss's Day Thank you to the most amazing staff who showered my office with fun on Monday. I am the luckiest boss in the world to work with such fun, hard-working, Christ loving staff members! Collegiate Seminar - Tuesday, October 11 Kathleen Wendt, Ricki Roth, Tammy Cox, and I met with freshman who have declared education as their major.  I opened the meeting with a welcome and Kathleen and Ricki followed up with the requirements of initial certification. MoGEA Workshop - Tuesday, October 11 A huge shout out goes to Elizabeth Busekrus for organizing and presenting our first MoGEA writing workshop.  We look forward to o

Spartan Preview Day Spartan Preview Day was held Saturday, October 1.  Tammy Cox, Ellen John, and I represented the Education Division and met with several prospective students and their parents.  This is always a great day to promote our outstanding division and help students decide on their career paths. Teacher Education Council On Monday the Teacher Education Council met.   The Teacher Education Council is an advisory group consisting of PK-12 school personnel and MBU faculty. This group of educators gathers at least twice per year to discuss partnership opportunities, clinical practice, curriculum, program components, and regional hiring needs. It is important to us in the Education Division at MBU that we ensure that effective partnerships and high-quality clinical practice are central to our preparation programs.  On this meeting's agenda were the  YESS Program and the First Year Teacher/Principal surveys.  We received valuable feedback from those in the room, includi
