Friday Memo: October 26, 2018
Inauguration Day - October 19, 2018
What a wonderful day of celebration last Friday as we inaugurated Dr. Ross. For those of you who were not able to attend, there was a buzz on this campus like I have never experienced. Excitement, joy, assurance, hope, reverence, and gratitude are just a few words that describe the events of the day.
“The promise of Missouri Baptist University beckons us forward, acknowledging what we’ve achieved in the past, calling us to our bright future.” -President Keith L. Ross, Inauguration Day

Rubrics
I need to stress to all instructors that you need to use rubrics when grading assignments and projects that are subjective in nature. Students deserve to know how and why they missed points on an assignment. Your master syllabi should have rubrics included; if not, please let the lead teacher know. Lead teachers - please review your master syllabus and ensure rubrics are included.
Alumni Chapel
Congratulations to Tanya Drachner for being selected as the recipient for the Mission in Action Award during the Alumni Chapel yesterday. Tanya is an education major who is well-deserving of this award.
MBU Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet
Huge Shout Out to Pablo Hernandez for being named the 2017-2018 Male Scholar-Athlete at last night's Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet. Thank you to Tom Smith and his team for putting together such a fantastic evening celebrating the wonderful achievements of our student athletes.
Upcoming Meetings
October 30: Directors' Meeting at 10:15 am in FLD 115
November 13: Faculty Meeting at 10:15 am in FLD 115
Closing Thoughts
Watching our students receive awards of excellence brings such joy to my heart! You all should be so proud of the work you do that manifests itself in the lives of our students. Your classes, your smiles, your tough love, the papers you grade, the placements you make, the advice you give, all leads to students shining!
