Friday Memo 3/27/15
All,
Please read below for division information and happenings from this past week.
MEGSL
Check out our facebook page for more information regarding information about Math Educators of Greater St. Louis. There are excellent professional development and scholarship opportunities for our students. Our facebook page is titled Missouri Baptist University Education Division.
Counseling Interviews
Mary Ann Conaway and I continue interviewing candidates for the Counseling position.
TEC
I am preparing for the upcoming Teacher Education Council meeting. As I was planning the agenda, I realized the importance of expanding the council to include some more public and private school administrators. I look forward to our meeting on April 16 where we will gather to discuss the current issues in our field.
Observed Student Teacher
I had the pleasure of observing one of our student teachers, Rhett Suttmueller, at LaSalle Springs Middle School in the Rockwood School District. Thanks to Marsha Tierney for letting me tag along. I have decided that it is important for me to be in the classroom observing our students. I will officially be supervising a student teacher in the fall. Rhett did a great job!
Professional Development - Assistive Technology
Malinda Cavallo from Special School District gave an informational presentation regarding Assistive Technology.

50th Anniversary Celebration
What a wonderful event last night! We had a great time celebrating the 50-year history of the institution as we look forward to the future of MBU.
Spartan Preview Day
Ricki Roth, Ellen John, and I had the pleasure of meeting with a variety of interested students and their parents.
Campus Labs
Tonia Crane, Gina Walker, Lindsay Balliet, and I teleconferenced with our Campus Labs representative Emily Rose Barry. I am happy to announce that the Compliance Assist module of Campus Labs is now loaded with the CAEP standards and is ready for us to begin entering information regarding our CAEP accreditation visit. Although the self-study is not due until Fall 2017, we need to begin collecting data and preparing for the study and visit ASAP. More information will be coming regarding the use of the Campus Labs software.
CAEP Annual Report
Tonia Crane, Kathleen Wendt and I met to discuss the annual report that is due in 3 weeks. We are in the process of collecting data on our recent graduates. We will keep you posted of the results.
Lowell Pitzer receives Cramer Award
Lowell Pitzer was given a prestigious award from the NAIA for his contributions to the basketball tournament. Please go to Lowell Pitzer's Award to read the full article. Congratulations, Lowell!
