Faculty Evaluations
I've completed all of the annual evaluations and have enjoyed getting to spend time with each full timer.  I appreciate all that you do as you serve our students. The most important thing we do for these students occurs in your class! Continue building strong relationships so they will be motivated to receive the information they need to be effective educators, counselors, and leaders!

Student Evaluations
We have recently learned that students in a few of our courses were not allowed the opportunity to complete student evaluations last fall. Moving forward, students will be completing course evaluations on all courses except field experience and student teaching courses. As we get closer to the end of each term, please remind your students to complete the course evaluation.

RLC Meeting
On Saturday the Mineral Area, Hillsboro and Arnold RLC adjuncts met. Amber Henry spoke to the group. Tammy Cox talked to the Education division adjuncts about master syllabi and lead instructors. It is important that adjuncts understand our process for updating master syllabi and the need to work with their lead instructor. Clint Limoges met with those interested in learning more about the CACREP aligned programs.

Lead Team Meeting
The Lead Team met on Monday and continued working on the vision and mission statement.  We will be talking about this more at our February 7 faculty meeting. I challenge you all to continue thinking about our vision statement. This is what we have so far... Impact.Day.One.

CAEP/CACREP Meeting
The faculty met on Tuesday and David Collum gave an update on CAEP.  He is working on validation and reliability studies for our internal assessment instruments.  The counseling faculty continued working on CACREP curricular issues and upcoming schedules.

Interviews for Administrative Assistant Position
We are in the process of replacing Tina Ketterer, who left MBU a few weeks ago.  Tina was the Administrative Assistant in our Graduate Counseling Department. Thanks to Clint Limoges, Jan Speck, Larry Richardson, and Nancy Sickler for serving on the selection committee. We are getting close to a final decision as we seek God's will for this new addition to our team.

CACREP Meeting with RLC Folks
On Thursday Clint Limoges and I met with the RLC folks and advisors to review updates, technology requirements, and advising communication.

Interview by Skype
Mark Engelhardt and Alicia Noddings interviewed Abbie Jones via Skype this week.  Abbie was recently married and is currently living out of state. I am so grateful that we have technology to allow us to work with Abbie so she could successfully complete her interview. Abbie plans to student teach in the fall back in Missouri.

ELL Differentiation Presentation
Mary Ann Bouas spoke to Mark Engelhardt's EDUC 303 Methods of Teaching and Differentiated Instruction Class. Her presentation was on working with ELL students and differentiating their instruction to ensure effective learning.

Temple Grandin
Dr. Engelhardt and Dr. Amber Henry attended Temple Grandin's lecture in Montgomery City. Temple Grandin's personal story is incredibly inspiring for all educators. Don't miss an opportunity to learn more about her.

Elizabeth Busekrus Presentation
Elizabeth is always willing to come present to your students. The picture below at the T/W SMSTA/SASCD meeting shows Elizabeth speaking to the students at the Troy/Wentzville RLC on APA form and style and how to avoid plagiarism. She is happy to present to students during your class, so don't hesitate to contact her to set up a time.

Upcoming Meetings
January 31: Directors' Meeting at 11 a.m. in FLD 115 Conference Room
February 7: Faculty  Meeting at 10:15 a.m. in FLD 115 Conference Room

Closing Thoughts
Romans 8:39 tells us Nothing in the whole world will ever be able to separate us from the love of God.
Max Lucado shares in In the Grip of Grace the following words:
We want to know how long God's love will endure...Not just when I'm peppy and positive and ready to tackle world hunger. Not then. I know how he feels about me then. Even I like me then. I want to know how he feels about me when I snap at anything that moves, when my thoughts are gutter-level, when my tongue is sharp enough to slice a rock. How does he feel about me then?... Can anything separate us from the love Christ has for us? God answered our question before we asked it. So we'd see his answer, he lit the sky with a star. So we'd hear it, he filled the night with a choir; and so we'd believe it, he did what no man had ever dreamed. He became flesh and dwelt among us. He placed his hand on the shoulder of humanity and said, "You're something special."
