Closing Thoughts
Losing a colleague and friend is so hard. The last few days have been filled with a mixture of emotions - sadness followed by sweet memories. Shelton Smith had a larger than life personality and his presence will be missed. There were many poignant statements made at the funeral yesterday about the lessons we can all learn from Shelton's life and legacy. I kept thinking about the parallels of his life and our verse for the year - This is my commandment that you love one another as I have loved you - John 15:12. Shelton loved others well because he knew and fully experienced the love of God.
May you all have a blessed Christmas celebrating the birth of Christ - the One who is love, from whom all good things come.
