Hope you all had a relaxing Labor Day weekend.

"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16

Syllabi
I am pleased to announce that for the first time in a long time (maybe ever) every syllabus being used this fall has been updated to reflect all of the new university, division, program, and course changes. A huge shout-out to Tammy Cox, Ellen John, and Mandy Kehoe for all of their efforts to follow-up with faculty to ensure we are using the most up-to-date syllabi. There are many reasons why using the most current syllabus is important, but the most important reason is because it is better for students!

Chapel
At chapel yesterday, we listened to a panel of faculty and students talk about their experience with international study and service. It was very uplifting and inspiring to hear from our students and our very own, Dr. Amy Brinkley as she shared about her experiences abroad. A quote by one of the students particularly stood out to me. She said that the main take away she had from her experience was that , "We are one people." How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity." Psalm 133:1 If you are interested in taking a group of education students to study abroad please let me know and then talk to Bob Kilzer.

Upcoming Meetings
Tuesday, September 11: Faculty Meeting at 10:15 CANCELED
Tuesday, September 25: Professional Development Faculty Meeting at 10:15 am

Closing Thoughts
I am researching the topic of Generation Z and will be sharing information learned with you regarding this next group of students coming into our classrooms. As we focus on loving our students as Christ loves us it is important to know who our students are, what motivates them, and how they learn. I look forward to future conversations about the various needs of this next generation of students. See the image below for similarities and differences between the different generations.
