The season between winter and summer, blooming flowers and trees, green grass growing.  Break...  Time off, a temporary release of duties,  Spring Break for a teacher is that glorious week off 3/4 of the way through the school year. The summer light is peaking through the end of the tunnel. We can see the end near and spring break is a special time for teachers to disconnect, rest, relax, perhaps play. I hope you all had such an experience last week during spring break. It took me a few days to get out of work mode, but I got the hang of it. My spring break consisted of sleeping in a little later than normal, shopping, lunch with friends, taking my kids to and from school each day, and cleaning my house, which doesn't sound fun but it actually was because my house is often neglected from the demands of being a working mom. Due to some time sensitive issues and work that needed to be submitted to DESE this afternoon, today's Friday Memo will be short and sweet! I hope you all have a wonderful spring break! Program Review Program Directors are doing a great job piloting a new Program Review Process. I appreciate their patience as we are "building the plane as we fly it." I have taken their feedback and am working with David Collum and Tim Delicath to design a template that is meaningful for our program directors and allows us to collect and analyze critical data for continuous improvement in all of our programs. Image Source: http://publicserviceworks.com/what-we-do Business Education Jennifer Sohn is our lead instructor for our Business Education courses, but because she teaches Business Education at Northwest High School she is not available during the school day. In her place, I attended a statewide Business Education meeting in the DESE offices at Jefferson City on Tuesday for the colleges and universities that offer a Business Education program.
